Trident Medical Center Re-Accredited as a Level III Trauma Center

Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC) recently announced that Trident Medical Center (TMC) has earned a full re-designation as a Level III Trauma Center, thereby meeting over 150 criteria involving quality, patient outcomes, education, and injury prevention. The re-designation was achieved based on a rigorous site survey conducted by South Carolina DHEC’s Department of EMS and Trauma Services.
Trident is proud to be able to provide the organized care and response necessary to effectively treat more critical trauma patients. TMC’s Trauma Center is led by Greg Squires, M.D., FACS. “Trident’s commitment to maintain their Level III Trauma Center status is a testament to their dedication to provide top quality trauma care to every patient who comes through their doors,” said Dr. Squires.
