North Charleston, SC — Trident Medical Center has selected Tami Frost, MSN, RN as its new Chief Nursing Officer. She will join the 321-bed hospital on August 30. Frost has more than 20 years of hospital-based healthcare leadership experience. She will have responsibility for more than 600 nurses at the hospital and at Moncks Corner Medical Center and Centre Pointe Emergency. Frost will oversee clinical nursing operations and initiatives to improve quality of care and patient satisfaction.

“I want nurses to feel supported and empowered,” stated Frost, who started her healthcare career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the operating room. “When that happens it translates into consistently good and compassionate patient care.”

Frost joins Trident Medical Center from 317-bed Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, where she served as Chief Nursing Officer and led the hospital to achieving the prestigious Magnet® status that recognizes nursing excellence. She also has a successful track record of improving both patient experience and employee engagement scores.

In addition to serving as Chief Nursing Officer at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Frost held a similar position at 417-bed Level l Trauma Center Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami and held nursing leadership positions at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center and University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, both in Las Vegas.

Frost earned her bachelors in nursing degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She also holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Phoenix.

Frost and her husband have four children and enjoy spending time traveling and visiting family in England.
