Charleston, SC – Vacations are planned. Emergencies aren’t. To help prepare for emergencies before they occur, Trident Medical Center will hold its first Spring Safety and Injury Prevention Fair. The outdoor event is free.

Interactive and hands-on learning stations for children and adults will be available. It’ll be held in the parking lot of Trident’s Medical Arts Building at 9313 Medical Plaza Drive, Charleston, SC 29406, which is directly across from Trident Medical Center.

The event will be held Saturday, April 22, 10 am – 2 pm. Food trucks will have items to purchase.

The event will include more than 10 learning stations. Experts from law enforcement, EMS, fire and other first responders will lead the learning sessions. They include:

  • Air ambulance transportation
  • Balloon art and face painting
  • Bicycle helmet giveaway (while supplies last)
  • Car seat check
  • Crime prevention tips
  • DUI simulator
  • Fall prevention
  • Hands-only CPR
  • K9 demonstration
  • Roll over simulator
  • Stop the Bleed
  • Stroke education

In the United States, the National Safety Council reports more than 175,000 preventable injury-related deaths occurred last year in homes and communities.
