Rebekah Lewis, PharmD

Rebekah Lewis, PharmD is one of the PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residents at Trident Medical Center. She earned both a BS in Pharmaceutical Science and PharmD from the University of South Carolina.  She decided to pursue pharmacy practice early on in pharmacy school after meeting with professors who also practiced as clinical pharmacists and who shared her passion for clinical pharmacy. She is a Charleston native and has loved growing up by the beach.  In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family, especially her niece and nephew, and going to farmers markets on the weekends!  She is excited to start her pharmacy career at Trident Medical Center and for what’s to come in her journey.

Jenny Zhou, PharmD

Jenny Zhou, PharmD is a current PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Resident at Trident Medical Center. She earned a BS in Biochemistry from Iowa State University and PharmD from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her primary practice interests vary from critical care to ambulatory care, due to the large amount of pharmacist autonomy in these settings. She enjoys working closely with other healthcare providers in clinical decision making and ensuring patient safety. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, baking, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her ragdoll cats, Bunny and Bear.

Rebekah Briley Miller, PharmD

Rebekah Briley Miller, PharmD is the PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Resident at Trident Medical Center. She earned a BS in Chemistry from Grove City College and her PharmD from the University of South Carolina.

Briley fell in love with pharmacy practice while working in the community setting but realized as a fourth-year student that clinical pharmacy was her true calling. Dr. Miller is excited and grateful to be pursuing this passion at Trident Medical Center. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new recipes with her husband, Jeffrey, and spoiling their dog, Obi.

Ashley Byrd, PharmD

Ashley Byrd, PharmD had a previous 10 year career as a dental hygienist before being accepted into the pharmacy program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC where she graduated with her PharmD in May 2021. Her interests in pharmacy include internal medicine and critical care. She enjoys patient interaction and the challenge of the clinical setting. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters.

Samantha Mayes, PharmD

Samantha Mayes, PharmD completed her Associate of Arts degree at Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington and completed pharmacy prerequisites at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. She went on to complete her PharmD at the Medial University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC in 2020. Dr. Mayes completed the Trident Medical Center PGY1 program in 2021. She is currently practicing as a Clinical Pharmacist in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Priscilla Harrison, PharmD

Priscilla Harrison, Pharm.D. completed her Bachelor of Science at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA in 2011 ad her PharmD at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019. Pricilla has a passion for patient safety, health and enjoys rounding with the clinical team. Priscilla completed the Trident Medical Center PGY1 program in 2020 and is currently working as a Clinical Pharmacist in Virginia.

Natcha Vicente-López, PharmD.

Natcha Vicente-López, Pharm.D. completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) Rio Piedras Campus in 2014 and her PharmD at the UPR Medical Sciences Campus in 2018. She successfully completed the Trident Medical Center PGY1 program in 2019. Her interests in pharmacy include internal medicine and administration. Natcha is currently practicing as a Clinical Specialist in a hospital system in Charleston, SC.

Avery Shawen, PharmD, BCIDP, BCPS

Avery Elizabeth Shawen, PharmD completed her Bachelor of Science at Clemson University in 2013 and her PharmD at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 2017. She then completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency in June of 2018 as Trident's first pharmacy resident. Along with completion of her residency Avery also obtained her teaching certificate through the Academician Preparation Program through MUSC as well as her BCPS in December 20189. She now works as a clinical pharmacist for Trident, where she continues to foster her interest of mentoring pharmacy students and promoting the profession of pharmacy. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, crafting and spending time outdoors.
